ROE by Lisa Loomer is a theatrical survey of the complicated and fiery underpinnings of Roe v. Wade, the landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling that established a woman’s right to an abortion.
Originally staged at Mixed Blood in 2019, Loomer has updated the story to reflect the Court’s recent Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health ruling, overturning the constitutional right to abortion further illustrating the fractures and fracturing history of one of the most polarizing social issues of the modern era.
ROE is a historically-sweeping, rare play that takes this inflammatory American issue head-on, urging audiences to action.
ROE is presented by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service, Inc., New York.
